Scammers Posing as Parents Target Would-Be Sitters & Nannies on Care.com and Other Online Sites

As always, scammers are taking advantage of people in a vulnerable state as they seek employment. If you are using Care .com or any online listing boards, keep your guard up.  As with anything you do online, always exercise common sense.

Another Nanny Scam on Craigslist

Another troubling story of deceit on Craigslist.  Story in the NYT about people trying to scam nannies on the posting site. Caveat emptor!

The Willing Nanny, the Happy Family: Too Good to Be True 

The e-mail arrived two weeks ago.

“I am a Nanny/Babysitter,” it read, “looking for a live out position starting ASAP.”
It was from a woman named Flavia Wasescha. She was responding to an ad on Craigslist posted by Venus Clemons, who was looking for a baby sitter for her 18-month-old son, Jamie.
