PAID FAMILY LEAVE ACT FOR CARE-GIVERS

As we have received several inquiries about the NYS Paid Family Leave Act that went into effect in 2018, we wanted to share additional information. The NYS Paid Family Leave Act covers all employees of private employers in New York State including, but not limited to, nannies, housekeepers and eldercare providers.

Per the NYS Paid Family Leave site…

“Paid Family Leave provides eligible employees job-protected, paid time off to: Bond with a newly born, adopted or fostered child, Care for a family member with a serious health condition, or Assist loved ones when a spouse, domestic partner, child or parent is deployed abroad on active military service.”
