5K Road Race and Kids Fun Run Followed by a Spectacular Fireworks Show

July 6th is the 14th annual Independence Day Race in Pound Ridge, NY. It’s a great way to start off the holiday weekend with a 5K run through scenic Pound Ridge. The race is followed by the Kids Fun Race. The races for children (toddlers to tweens) starts after the adult race or approximately @10AM.

July 4th is the 31st annual (Four on the Fourth) Independence Day Race in New Canaan, CT. Great way to start off the day with a 4 mile run along scenic Oenoke Ridge in New Canaan.

Even the rain this morning couldn’t stop these enthusiastic young athletes from competing in the 2013 Bedford, NY (BCSD) 3rd Annual Bike Run. A good time was had by everyone and Wee Care was delighted to support the event.Many, many thanks to Christina Dochtermann, and all the volunteers  for all the hard work and for inviting Wee Care to participate. Interesting article in the NYT about  all the benefits of talking to your baby a lot and often. And the chatter they hear from the TV doesn’t count.

It turns out, evidence is showing, that the much-ridiculed stream of parent-to-child baby talk — Feel Teddy’s nose! It’s so soft! Cars make noise — look, there’s a yellow one! Baby feels hungry? Now Mommy is opening the refrigerator! — is very, very important. (So put those smartphones away!)
